Dream big today and let your insightful “sixth sense” kick in to illuminate life! When honoring inner sight, we unlock the potential to see the light. Ever have an inkling, idea, premonition, hunch, or vibe? By trusting both intelligence and intuition, awareness becomes finely tuned. We are more able to follow the spiritual breadcrumbs along our paths.

Signs and symbolism begin to make sense and have greater, applicable meaning in our lives. If one isn’t in tune with their Third Eye capabilities, they probably don’t give much credence to anything they cannot see with their physical eyes. Acknowledging and activating intuition raises your frequency to where you can better tap into the collective consciousness and ancient wisdom.

The concept of the Third Eye is found in many cultures. Many people in Asia and beyond wear Bindis, dots of paint or stickers on the forehead between the eyes, to encourage concentration and positive thoughts as well as remind them of their innate Third Eye wisdom. In the Catholic tradition, ash is used to mark the forehead on Ash Wednesday in a ceremony of remembering Christ Consciousness. From ancient Egyptians revering the Eye of Horus symbol for protection to Hinduism’s Shiva burning through untruths with his third eye, this power point is present.

In the physical body, the pineal gland is associated with the Third Eye, and it actually looks like a small pinecone shaped eye. Located in the center of the brain, the pineal and pituitary glands are the only structures in the brain not bilaterally symmetrical or members of a pair. Scientists have found the pineal gland produces hormones as well as serotonin and melatonin, which regulate everything from the cycles of waking and sleeping to happiness. But this little gland that could  goes much deeper as 16th century French philosopher René Descartes called it “the seat of the soul” and Greek anatomist Herophilus spoke of it as “a sphincter which regulates the flow of thought.” It holds the mystique of being the connector between the physical, mental, and spiritual realms and perhaps even a telepathic portal into other spheres.

Focus on focusing by concentrating on a drishti, orfocal point. This may be any spot around you, as long as it is stationary. A notch on the floor, mark on the wall, top of a mountain, or the tip of your nose all work. The goal is to keep the mind as stable and still as the point of your choice. As the world at large can be overstimulating, gazing at a candle with limited blinks is a useful technique for softening first the visual distractions and in time the internal ones. Mandalas are also very useful for harnessing attention via geometrical designs symbolizing everything from purpose to peace, creativity to consciousness. They are visual representations of order on the outside which help in creating order within.

As you softly gaze, let your self, thoughts, and imagination prance the spiraling pathways toward inner guidance and wholeness where all is connected. The joy or suffering of your neighbor or a being on the other side of the planet is your joy and suffering as well. Embrace the web of connectivity, see the world in a different light, from a supernatural point of view where everything is energy, and people are playing their karmic roles. This helps in the process of forgiving yourself and others. Being mindful without judging, acceptance is your go to. Once you’ve observed inwardly, take it outside and be an aware observer of the world.

Sit on a park bench and settle in for some people watching. Check out the body language of persons strolling solo, hanging with their pets, babies, friends, or lovers. Notice stances, cadences, and chemistries. In your mind’s eye, complete their stories. Where are they from, what is their relationship, what are their dreams? Filling in the blanks helps hone the intuitive third eye muscle... not to mention making for a fun afternoon.

Instinctually we know much more than we are usually willing to give ourselves credit for. Impulses are many times brushed aside as impractical. The next time you don’t have solid proof of something but get a funny feeling, allow yourself to be aware of it. Maybe you immediately listen to and heed your instinct or at least write it down to circle back round on your hunch. Treat the muscle of instinct like you would your biceps by doing push-ups. A few per day add up and build your intuitive strength.

Many may want to shun, lock up, demonize, or write off persons whom have accessed some level of the Third Eye Chakra as delusional or crazy. Visions and mystical or religious experiences open new routes in a system, and the ability and willingness to pull back the curtain, to see beyond the veil, needs to be nurtured and supported in order to have a fluid growth experience. Cleansing and refining the body helps in healthily reaching higher mental and spiritual energies inviting consciousness to ascend. We must leave behind our comfort zones in order to chase dreams. Whether frightened of success, having difficulty making decisions, or experiencing a lack of imagination, help appears when you are open to it. Set aside time to fantasize and daydream, visualizing in order to manifest. Using your imagination, see yourself living your dreams. What does it look and feel like? Where are you, who are you with, what are you doing? Feel into it. By doing this you are setting the scene for yourself to move into living that life in the physical realm. Explore the limitless possibilities.
